‘Adventurous’ 2012

‘ADVENTurous’ is the theme for Engedi Arts exhibition planned for December 2012

We are calling for submissions to create a walk through mixed media exhibition to be held for a month in 3 UK venues over the period of advent: Colwyn Bay, Leeds and Islington, London

Brief:
The theme ADVENTurous seeks to explore the biblical story of ‘advent’, or ‘coming’. Artists are also expected to channel their responses in the light of the following three ideas and their relevance to contemporary culture:

-FAITH – where we are?
-ECONOMY – where we are going?
-ECOLOGY – How we get there?

These ideas should then be framed within a context of ‘Risk Taking’ and ‘Adventure’.
Each piece should be titled in association to one of the following words:

PROPHET – SILENCE – STAR – ZECHARIAH – ELIZABETH – MARY – GABRIEL – JOSEPH – DONKEY – BETHLEHEM – INN – STABLE – SHEPHERD – HEAVEN’S CHORUS – LAMB – MAGI (JOURNEY) –– MAGI (FOLLOWING) – MAGI (HEROD) – FRANKINCENSE – GOLD – MYRRH – JERUSALEM – HEROD – MANGER – JESUS

Artists may submit for one or several of the titles, whilst keeping each piece as a separate submission.
